Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was born in the Netherlands and began his career as an artist relatively late in life, in his late twenties. During his short but prolific career, he produced over 2,000 works, including paintings, drawings, and sketches. His masterpieces, such as "Sunflowers," "The Starry Night," and "Irises," are known for their bold colors and expressive brushwork. Although he struggled with mental health issues during his lifetime and was not fully appreciated, Van Gogh is now considered one of the most influential figures in Western art history.
